“What would you tell your younger self?” This is a tough question – there are so many things I might do differently “if I knew then what I know now”, yet I don’t want to imply that I’d like to change my past since all moments have led me to this present existence of which I am most grateful and proud. Life is good. With that being said, here’s advice I would give my younger self:
Don’t binge drink. Drinking away your inhibitions leads to drunken exhibitions.
You don’t have to be perfect. There will ALWAYS be someone who can do something better than you. Big Deal! Don’t limit yourself because you fear not being the best.
Don’t stay silent when you see an injustice, but be prudent in how you choose to address it. Being combative is usually not as effective as being calm and rational.
The adage is true: those who gossip with you will gossip about you. Don’t say something about someone that you wouldn’t say to her face.
You will meet people you cannot trust. Sadly, you will learn this the hard way. All you can do is strive to be loyal and trustworthy yourself.
Smile! Don’t rely on someone else to brighten your mood. Be the person who makes someone else’s day better.
